FFMM - operation

... is run according to FREMO´s concept, which means that all freight wagons (all with individual wagon numbers), passenger wagons and locomotives are equipped with a wagon card. This card is equipped with a plastic pocket;

  • in which a freight card / circulation card can be inserted for freight wagons. This card tells what the cart is transporting and where it is going.
  • in which a circulation card can be inserted for passenger cars. This card tells which trains the wagon should be inserted into and which lines the wagon should run.
  • in which a circulation card can be inserted for locomotives. This card tells which trains the locomotive should pull and on which lines.

At the same time, this wagon card is equipped with data for the individual wagon / locomotive, a picture / a drawing of the wagon / locomotive and the owner's name.

In the case of cross-border operations, the locomotives that may run in several countries may continue without change at a border station. As seen by the model.

Timetables

We run our operations according to schedules.

Each timetable includes information on the route, speed, track work and work tasks. Each locomotive driver follows the individual timetables and solves the tasks of each train.

Freight plans

Passing freight trains run through a large part of the setup. They often run from endstation to endstation, but it can also easily be from endstation to an operating site on the setup, for example a combined terminal.

For shunting freight trains, line locomotives must be responded to at all operating locations where there is freight to / from.

For freight trains to operating sites in the setup, the wagon trunk must be ranked according to customer tracks. It may happen that there are freight cars on the customer track, which must be returned.

Note that freight trains run by an electric locomotive can only shunt in the main track. At stations where off-track shunting takes place, a diesel locomotive is available at the site.

Shunt plans

For shunt plans, these plans are drawn as a regular timetable. However, there must be shunting with freight wagons at the individual operating sites to which the shunting plan applies.

For these tasks, a shunt locomotive is available at the individual operating locations, or the locomotive is driven from a nearby station.

Since the starting point for the operation is the cargo, this means that open wagons with loose cargo must either be emptied or loaded. The freight card in the pocket on the wagon card follows the cargo here.

For containers and trailers, there are slightly different rules, as it is the container or trailer itself that is the cargo.
